We are seeking two enthusiastic, experienced Pharmacy Technicians to work alongside either the Medical or Surgical Directorate Pharmacists to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients in the Directorate.

 

The post offers the opportunity to develop Directorate based near-patient duties including taking medication histories and enhanced patient counselling. Also included are dispensary duties and other tasks relevant to developing the pharmacy service at ward level and enhancing the role of the pharmacy technician as we embrace ‘Pharmacy in the Future’.

The Pharmacy:  The 70 staff provide services to over 1,100 beds.  We have a Wholesale Dealer’s Licence, Specials Licence and on-site QA.  Satellite services serve a £42m Healthcare Trust that has just merged to cover the whole of Northamptonshire.  We have good relationships with clinical staff, the Health Authority, other Trusts and local PCG/T’s.

The Hospital:  A Three Star, CNST Level 2, £100m acute Trust with 730 beds providing the full range of DGH services and Cancer.  We have:

·         Some great facilities – swimming, squash, badminton, tennis, gym, snooker, bars etc.

·         Temporary accommodation.

·         On-site childcare facilities.

The Place:  Northampton is at the centre of England - 5 minutes from J15 on the M1 and one hour by train to Euston and Birmingham.   The County is expanding with 60 000 new dwellings planned by 2016.   The education and leisure facilities are excellent.
