Northampton General Hospital is a £120m acute Trust with all DGH specialties provided from a combination of new and more mature clinical buildings. We are a Cancer Centre covering the whole county and Milton Keynes, with links to Oxford and Leicester.
Our team of 87 staff serve over 1,100 beds (700 DGH and 240 Mental health and others). The modern department has a licensed Manufacturing Unit and a Wholesale Dealer's Licence. We have a department on the Princess Marina site that has a planned re-development. This department serves the South of the Northamptonshire Healthcare Trust, which is a county-wide Mental Health Trust.
We have good relationships with the other Trusts and local PCT's and we have a network of pharmaceutical advice covering the whole county.
On site we have some of the best recreational facilities of any hospital - swimming, squash, badminton, tennis, gym, function rooms, bar, restaurants etc, and the town centre is just 5 minutes walk away.
Situated 10 minutes from J15 on the M1 and one hour by train to Euston and Birmingham, the town is expanding with 50,000 new dwellings planned by 2031. The ‘Rose of the Shires’ – Northampton is at the centre of England with beautiful countryside and a busy social scene with theatres, sporting facilities etc. Silverstone circuit, cricket, rugby and football grounds, are all just a few miles away.
