Overview

This is a very busy section involved with the receipt and supply of medicines for patients to use in the many wards, clinics, departments and at Princess Marina Hospital Pharmacy

Aims

To buy effectively via purchasing contracts.

To manage stocks at a reasonable cost to the Trust.

To comply with the necessary legislation of the Medicines Act and Control Agencies.

Current and Future Developments

We are planning a major refurbishment program that will improve the receipt, storage and distribution of goods. Some orders are being placed by Electronic Data Interchange. NVQ assessed training package for Stores/Distribution personnel.

Staffing

Current staffing levels consist of:

1 Senior Technician (MTO3)
3 Clerical Officers (A & C 2)
